SR Veterinary Physiotherapy is delighted to be able to offer INDIBA® radiofrequency treatments as part of our equine practice. INDIBA Animal Health was born out of the success and supported scientific research over the period of 35+ years of the INDIBA Activ device for human physiotherapy. The treatment has been established since 1983 and is widely used globally by professional athletes, tennis players and premiership football teams, and now INDIBA is available to the equine athletes.
What is INDIBA Radiofrequency?
INDIBA operates at a fixed frequency of 448kHz, activating the body’s natural healing mechanisms to increase cellular bio-stimulation therefore, improving deep blood flow and reducing pain. INDIBA Radiofrequency operates within a closed system, this means it can be used to treat structures and areas much deeper than other therapy options can reach such as the sacroiliac (SI) joint and deep gluteal muscles.
What conditions can INDIBA Radiofrequency benefit:
INDIBA Radiofrequency is able to treat a wide variety of conditions, injuries and tissue types, with some listed below:

How is INDIBA Radiofrequency different from other Electro-therapies?
- Can be used anywhere on the body
- It can be used on acute or chronic injuries due to the device being able to use with or without heat.
- Does not require clipping of the hair and is not influenced by skin or coat colour
- Provides non-invasive and drug-free pain management, cell stimulation, regeneration & recovery for enhanced healing and performance.
- It can be used in conjunction with PRP and Stem cell injections
- There is no withdrawal period and the therapy is approved to be delivered at FEI competitions
Many trainers and riders have found a reduced or no need for joint injections the horse has previously had after a course of INDIBA, removing the inherent risks of infections and decreased effectiveness of injections.
Scientific research:
INDIBA has around 300 scientific papers published in leading journals including Professor Tim Watson at the University of Herefordshire in the UK. Tim tested INDIBA on humans in a laboratory setting, this work further concluded that it is safe to be used as a treatment and is very effective at increasing blood flow and tissue temperature lasting longer than any other electrotherapy on the market.
