Equine Physiotherapy Services
SR Veterinary Physiotherapy provides a high-quality mobile assessment and treatment service that caters for a range of disciplines, on a referral basis. To ensure optimum condition our horses require additional TLC to deal with modern demands that we place our horses from stabling, to haynets, to ridden work. Despite the contrary belief, physiotherapy can benefit horses of all disciplines and abilities not just for your injured or elite competition horse.
The aim of physiotherapy is not only to improve performance but to also reduce pain, re-educate gait, accelerate healing, restore mobility and aid in the prevention of injury. This ensures your horse can perform optimally throughout their ridden career.
As horses have an innate ability to mask pain, by adapting their gait and posture, it can be difficult to notice problems, especially when you see the horse everyday thus issues can go unnoticed for a long period of time. If left unaddressed for a long time, these compensatory musculoskeletal issues may lead to permanent damage limiting their performance.
More information on techniques used can be found on our services page.
